Peter Kelly to be Chief Executive Officer for KAR Auction Services

KAR Auction Services has promoted Peter Kelly to Chief Executive Officer, commencing on April 1, 2021. He currently serves the company as President, and will continue to be a Board Member moving forward. Peter previously served as OPENLANE’s Co-Founder, President and Chief Executive Officer until its acquisition by KAR ten years ago. He supersedes Jim Hallett, who will transition to Executive Chairman and Advisor.

KAR Auction Services is a provider of whole car auction services that operates through two segments: ADESA and Automotive Finance Corporation (AFC). Headquartered in Carmel, IN, KAR has 10,000 employees and maintains business units across the U.S., Canada, Mexico, the UK and Europe. For 2019, the company reported revenues of $2.78 billion.
