Bala Sathyanarayanan Named Senior Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer at Greif, Inc.

Kingsley Gate Partners, led by Mike Bergen, Senior Partner & Practice Leader, Global Human Resources Practice, recently placed Bala Sathyanarayanan at Greif, Inc. as its new Senior Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer. In this new role, Bala will be responsible for developing and leading all aspects of Greif’s global Human Resources organization that will include leading a global team of HR professionals to create integrated and aligned strategies for talent acquisition, talent management total rewards / executive compensation, learning and organization development, and HR technology.

Bala joins Greif as a member of the executive leadership team after recently serving as Executive Vice President for Human Resources for North American Operations at the Xerox Corporation where he led several initiatives that drove business transformations, built winning cultures and provided superior delivery of business outcomes throughout the enterprise. Prior to Xerox, Bala was the Vice President of Human Resources at Hewlett-Packard for 7 years where he was a part of the America’s Leadership Team that lead Human Resources for HP’s Enterprise Business. Bala’s 27-year career has exposed him to a variety of human resources, talent management and operational roles at companies such as Avaya, Inc., Polaris Software, Inc. and Coca Cola, Inc.

Bala holds an MBA in Human Resources from Rutgers University and graduated from the Advanced Management Program at Harvard Business School. He earned both his Bachelor of Science in Electronics and Communications Engineering and Master of Business Administration (MBA) in General Management degrees from the University of Madras in Chennai, India.
