Kingsley Gate Partners inaugura la conferencia Galaxy Of Leaders con el primer debate en Singapur
Kingsley Gate Partners kicked off their Galaxy of Leaders conferences with their first roundtable lunchtime discussion in Singapore at the Port of Call in the Fullerton Hotel on Monday, November 7th.
The discussion featured prominent executives including CEOs and CHROs from global companies across a number of industries, including banking and financial services, manufacturing, pharmaceuticals and fast food corporations.
CHROs have been traditionally internally oriented, but now there is a call for them to look outward and to undertake an active role in the performance of the business as a whole rather than focus on just employee performance. A possible way to achieve this could be by segregating HR into administrative functions involving traditional HR functions, including payroll, compensation & benefits, and employee satisfaction; and the other aspect could look at setting and meeting business performance goals, including organization and leadership.
The topic is more relevant now than ever before.
Sandeep Girotra, the Head of HR for Asia-Pacific at DaVita, says that HR has come a long way in the past 3 decades. “Three decades ago, HR was more about welfare. We as HR people were trained and bred to believe that CHROs could not make good CEOs. Now, that has changed. Where there once used to be a dearth of HR talent, HR executives are now asking, ‘What is next for me?’”
The discussion concluded with suggestions about next steps forward. As per Sanchita Singh, the Chief People Officer at Yum! Brands, there is a three-pronged approach that leaders can adopt for optimal utilization of available talent. “The first is what we are going to do with ourselves as individuals. We need to be proactive. If you want it, go for it! The second would be for the team where, if you spot talent, you help them go for it. And finally, for the organization, we could start by building trust and relationships.”
Este debate es uno de los cuatro que Kingsley Gate Partners celebra en cuatro ciudades de la región Asia-Pacífico: Singapur, Bengaluru, Bombay y Nueva Delhi.
